Services - Serving Youth and Families
-
The focus of services of
Lourdesmont Youth and Family Services involves
psycho-social-educational intervention provided through day
treatment/partial hospitalization and outreach programs for adolescents
who present emotional, social, and/or behavioral concerns. The
Lourdesmont philosophy promotes success experiences which in turn
engender feelings of self-worth and build the premise for positive
behavioral expectations. The treatment approach endeavors to provide for
the development of the whole person by creating a structured setting
that fosters self-control, personal responsibility and social
consciousness. The main objective of treatment is to provide
opportunities that impel the individual to develop, practice and
internalize the skills needed to overcome her or his specific
difficulties and to make a successful transition to adulthood.

LOURDESMONT HIGH SCHOOL provides special education for the
adolescents receiving mental health and substance abuse services through
the various Lourdesmont day treatment/partial hospitalization programs.
Lourdesmont High School is licensed by the Board of Private Academic
Schools of the Pennsylvania Department of Education and accredited by
the Commission of Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of
Colleges and Schools.
LOURDESMONT EMERGENCY SHELTER provides temporary living accommodations to youth who must be removed from their current living environments for their protection. The shelter (capacity
of six) is operated in collaboration with the Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services (LCCYS) for children and youth residing in Lackawanna County who need a place to live on an emergency basis. Foster homes are not used to expand the services. The shelter is located in a separate facility on campus. It is structured on a
"house parent" model and operates on a twenty-four (24) hour per day basis. LOURDESMONT GROUP HOME, Honesdale, PA provides a goal-centered, therapeutic, family environment for adolescent boys who require more intensive treatment, structured activities and support services than can be provided to persons living at home or in foster care.
THE ROSE CENTER provides community-wide mediation services and training, aimed at reducing violence and interpersonal conflicts within society. Many of the Rose Center's programs are aimed toward "at-risk" youth who reside in disadvantaged and high crime neighborhoods.
