Intensive Family Home Based Program

 

The Lourdesmont Intensive Family Home Based Program is a collaborative effort between Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services (LCCYS) and Lourdesmont.  The program targets parents of all age children, ages zero to seventeen.  It is a preventative home based program where children and families who are at high risk receive intensive parenting skills enhancement in an attempt to keep children in their own homes.

All of the sessions are done in the parents’ homes and are scheduled at the convenience of the family.  Intensive Family Home Based workers tailor parenting issues on a case-by-case basis.  The training rendered is very client specific.  Parents have access to the Intensive Family Home Based workers 24 hours per day 365 days per year via pager to consult on parenting questions.

Intensive Family Home Based workers have phone contact with their families on a daily basis and are in the homes as often as needed to get their families out of critical situations. 

The program is not time limited. Intensive Family Home Based workers will work with an individual family until the workers feel as if the family is at a safe level and that the children are no longer at risk.
